Workshop

An Introduction to Cognitive Behaviour Therapy

General information

I have run a range of workshops for counsellors, psychotherapists, health workers and others working therapeutically with clients. Workshops are interactive with a mix of theoretical learning and experiential practice.

Participants are given a basic understanding of cbt; a chance to practice some cbt skills and techniques; an introduction to cbt models of low self-esteem, anxiety and depression; an overview of current developments in cognitive therapy; and an opportunity to explore how cbt might integrate with their therapeutic approach in their own particular setting.

Typical workshop programme - which can be tailored to specific needs:

Workshop 1: AN OVERVIEW OF CBT

Includes theoretical background; basic model; links with other therapeutic approaches; basic principles; and how to introduce cbt to clients.

Workshop 2: ‘DOING CBT’

A practical 2-day workshop which will introduce some of the basic tools and techniques of cbt and give participants an opportunity to try them out for themselves.
